Vice President of Business Services
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the product portfolio of offerings for businesses, non-profits, and churches. Leads a team of Business Development Officers responsible for providing comprehensive financial solutions to small businesses, non-profits, and churches, while ensuring alignment with the Everence Federal Credit Union's Strategic Plan, with a primary focus on deposit share, business services, and loan growth. Accountable for driving sales leadership and achieving ambitious sales goals in the business banking sector.
Plays a pivotal role in the growth and success of our business banking division. This involves overseeing the BDO team, managing a business portfolio, and serving as the Business Development Officer when needed. Actively cultivates relationships with current and potential members, especially those associated with member businesses, to enhance the business loan and share portfolios. Ensures timely and professional service for both members and prospects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Business Services Portfolio Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage a business suite of offerings to meet the needs of business, organization, and churches.
- Set goals related to business portfolio mix and growth.
- Manage ROI in business offerings to ensure sustainability.
- Develop strategies, synergies, and collaborations around serving business, organizations, and churches being served by other Everence business lines.
- Business Development Responsibilities
- Assume leadership for business development officers.
- Collaborate with management to proactively develop strategies for acquiring new members, providing strategic steps for implementation.
- Reach out to potential members to present information on products and services.
- Serve as the primary liaison and contact for existing regional member businesses, maintaining relationships.
- Maintain a visible presence in the local community, actively participating in business, community, charitable organizations, and activities to promote the credit union.
- Promote all products and services through cross-selling to meet members’ needs.
- Proactively seek integration points with other Everence business lines that serve businesses, organizations, and churches.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and inspire a team of business development officers.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team consistently meets and exceeds performance goals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
- Support other members of the CU Management Team with coaching and mentoring to other relationship manager roles throughout the credit union (i.e. Branch Managers, Community Development Officers, etc.)
- Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business banking growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of market trends in a competitive landscape.
- Collaborate closely with the CU Management Team to align sales goals with overall credit union objectives.
- Member Relationship Management
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with business banking members.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand member needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensure exceptional member service to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
- Performance Monitoring
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies.
- Regularly assess team performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Implement measures to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all business banking sales activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Implement risk management protocols and proactively identify potential issues.
- Collaborate closely with compliance and risk management teams to address any concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
College degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 10+ years of business lending experience
- Knowledge of banking operations, products, and lending functions
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and public relations skills
- Thorough understanding of business lending and deposit programs, policies, and procedures, as well as related legal requirements
- Established network in the local market
- Prospecting, sales, and referral skills
- Attentive to detail; well organized
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow
- Spanish-speaking a plus
