Vice President of Health Insurance Products

Everence Goshen, IN (Onsite) Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the delivery of Everence’s proprietary insurance products and services. Organize a team to effectively manage and support these products while providing outstanding service to members. Develop and implement a plan to profitably increase the product market share whenever possible. Have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage Medicare Supplement insurance and the third-party administration of self-insured pools. 

Collaborate across the organization to develop and maintain operational efficiencies within the health products and services division, particularly with the actuarial, legal, information technology, and accounting teams. Work with external strategic partners, including health networks, pharmacy benefit managers, insurance companies, and others, to craft a coordinated plan for delivering seamless services to our members. 

Create a strong wholesaling team that supports and empowers Medicare Supplement producers via various distribution channels, including Everence’s field staff, call centers, partners, and independent agents. Assist relationship management staff in building positive relationships with institutional clients.

Identify, develop, and launch new products that our members need. Utilize existing product models to analyze and assess the viability and marketability of new products and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Develop and implement a strategic plan that integrates our goal of being highly responsive to members.
  2. Develop new products and improve existing products based on member needs and market dynamics. 
  3. Grow new and retain existing memberships for all products. Stay highly responsive to market changes, developing strategies to adapt our market position.
  4. Recruit, retain, and develop a highly effective team dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations of field staff and members.
  5. Develop annual budgets and manage the overall financial performance of insurance products and services.
  6. Cultivate a culture that emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and empowerment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

License(s)

Must have or obtain an Indiana life & health insurance license

Experience

  1. Industry product knowledge appropriate for the role
  2. Prior experience in insurance product management and third-party administration preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Highly responsive to member needs (high sense of urgency)
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills, both internal and external; a strong team motivator
  3. Demonstrated supervisory experience
  4. Willingness to take risks and make decisions consistent with Everence’s mission, vision, and values.
  5. Strong leadership skills and experience required
  6. Strong product and financial analytical skills related to health insurance and third-party administration services
  7. Understanding and sensitivity to Anabaptist values
  8. Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 10%
