Senior Financial Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and risk management reporting focused on supporting the credit union's financial strategy and decision-making. Supports the execution of Everence Federal Credit Union’s asset-liability management model, ensuring regulatory deliverables covering interest rate risk, liquidity risk, balance sheet management strategies, and stress testing are complete and accurate. Leads collaboration across departments to ensure financial compliance and delivers insights that drive financial health and growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and present reports on asset-liability management, liquidity risk, stress-testing, and modeling.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing management insights.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasts to evaluate budget assumptions and scenarios.
- Develop and maintain financial models to predict future financial performance.
- Data Analysis
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Utilize data analytics tools to create actionable insights for management.
- Risk Management
- Assist in identifying and analyzing financial and operational risks.
- Support the development of risk mitigation strategies.
- Responsible for Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) specific analysis
- Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the long-term strategic planning process by analyzing market trends and financial forecasts.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing financial performance and achieving strategic goals.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with accounting, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment on financial objectives and compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts within the department.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and financial analysis and reporting trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or a related field, preferably within a credit union, banking, or regulated financial services environment
- Experience performing Asset-Liability Management (ALM) specific analysis, using financial models preferred
- Experience measuring, monitoring, and managing risks, including interest rate risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and balance sheet strategies
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Proficient in financial analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
