Information Security Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the basic needs of keeping the Everence data environment secure and meeting government and corporate regulations. Works with others on the Information Security Team, assisting with administration and configuration of security and risk-based tools within the Everence environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Work with Everence web filter, maintaining rules according to Everence standards.
- Work with security policies, procedures, and protocols to label, inventory, archive, and protect sensitive data.
- Work with Everence desktop and server patching systems.
- Maintain Everence phishing program.
- Help maintain Everence email encryption along with other teammates.
- Perform other security and IT tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Information Technology, or related area
Experience:
- IT administration experience, including working with Windows file servers, Microsoft O365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft SCCM, and Microsoft Data Management, including Purview, is beneficial
- Experience planning, testing, implementing, and documenting new hardware and software systems
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management
- Understanding GLBA and HIPAA requirements related to data security and privacy is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate and communicate with all levels within the corporate organization professionally and courteously
- Ability to meet strict deadlines when dealing with patching and security vulnerabilities
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and well-organized with high accuracy when working with the security policies, procedures, and inventory system
- Maintain strict confidence in company and client information
- Continually update skills and company product and service knowledge for professional growth
- Availability to work periodic nights and weekends may be required
