Business Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
Plays a critical role within the Project Management Office (PMO), partnering with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure that projects and initiatives are aligned with organizational strategy, clearly defined, and successfully executed. Instrumental in supporting strategic projects, optimizing current business processes, and enabling the PMO to deliver consistent, repeatable value.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Own the front-end of the project lifecycle by bridging strategy and execution through structured discovery, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Partner with project managers to ensure requirements are well understood, scoped, and prioritized for successful delivery.
- Lead the evaluation of current business processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to elicit requirements and confirm alignment on project goals.
- Assist in the development of business cases, including cost/benefit analysis and impact assessments.
- Support solution design by working closely with IT and vendor teams to ensure requirements are fully identified and properly implemented.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to change management planning and communications to support successful adoption of new processes and systems.
- Prepare reports and presentations for diverse groups, including project stakeholders and leadership.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
3-5+ years of business analysis experience, preferably in a project-based environment
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in requirements documentation and validation, with skills to create process maps and business cases
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead stakeholder discovery sessions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with business analysis and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Lucid, or similar
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative and team-oriented with a strong sense of initiative and ability to build strong relationships across business and technical teams
- Comfortable working in ambiguity, especially during early project definition phases
- Demonstrated clarity and professionalism to engage with senior leaders and communicate complex information in a concise, business-relevant manner
- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Appreciation of Everence core values
