Vice President of Lending
POSITION SUMMARY
Functions as a member of the EFCU management team and Everence Financial strategic planning group, participates in establishing and implementing major goals and strategic objectives of Everence Federal Credit Union and broader Everence Financial lending initiatives, and provides leadership to all aspects of lending across Everence. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing Everence lending services including consumer, mortgage and real estate loans, business loans, and church loan services.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Develop and implement all effective lending strategies, policies, products, and procedures across all Everence entities.
- Ensure effective performance and quality of all lending functions and services.
- Ensure that lending personnel are effective, equipped, and well-trained.
- Supervise and coach personnel and ensure optimal performance.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with all Everence personnel, management, and members.
- Ensure the effective coordination of all lending activities within related Everence departments, branches, and channels.
- Provide leadership to the Everence Church Loan Committee; provide process and policy updates as well as church and commercial loan requests for final decisions.
- Lead new initiatives such as Everence Impact Fund and other product/balance sheet opportunities.
- Ensure that all Everence lending activities are efficient, safe, effective, and legally compliant.
- Oversee collections approach, strategy, and management.
- Provide collections guidance for asset liquidation - foreclosures, repos, etc.
- Oversee Allowance of Loan Loss process and recommendations.
- Stay well informed regarding legal and regulatory changes that impact Everence operations.
- Ensure professional business relationships are established and maintained with members, vendors, the business community, and trade organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance/related field or an equivalent combination of formal financial services training and experience
Experience:
Seven to ten years of related progressive lending experience in a credit union or similar financial institution
